<p><font size="3">Well, couldn’t run today.&#160; I twisted my right knee about a month ago and it has been giving me problems here and there.&#160; Then last week, I went to let Mina (our basset) in off the chain and slipped on the frosted deck on the top of my left knee cap.&#160; Oh my GOD did that hurt, plus a brush burn that scabbed over………………..and I think I did something to it.&#160; So I have been hobbling around, especially up and down stairs………both ways, up and down kill.&#160; </font></p>
<p><font size="3">I REALLY felt like running today, especially cause we got the basement cleaned up on that side where I have equipment.&#160; I was going to do the week 2 last day C25k run, and I made it through the first run, but felt it, then by the second run I had to just walk.&#160; I did race walking style, LOL.&#160; When running I could feel the tendon or what ever is under the knee cap hurt on both knees.&#160; But walking didn’t seem to do that.&#160; It also hurt when I was trying to just stand with feet apart knees slightly bent to do some exercises standing and some lifting.&#160; </font></p>
<p><font size="3">I hope that these knees don’t continually pain me and I can get back into running, or walk/running that I do.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">Bob and I just talked about it this weekend.&#160; In our 40’s it seemed like our eyes went to crap, now beginning our 50’s the body is going,&#160; UGH!!!!!</font></p>

<p><font size="2">I have personally reviewed and sent out information to family and friends on products for years.&#160; Now I thought, “Why don’t I put the down in the blog?” then lots of people could look for an honest, non-company driven opinion on products.</font></p>
<p><font size="2">I hope to see some personal comments to some of the products that I review, by you, so that people, as well as myself, can get a more well rounded idea of the product/food/gadget.</font></p>
<p><font size="2">RECIPES!!&#160; I also put a link to my recipes that I have acquired for family.&#160; Sometime I plan on making a family cookbook, but I guess in fact… I have it’s just online.&#160; I will be adding more to the cookbook as I try and tweak recipes.&#160; Most of the recipes are tried and true family favorites.&#160; I added them to the web for my daughters to have an easy place to quick look at them and use while at college.</font></p>
<p><font size="2">While I’m at it I might as well add a page for diet reviews.&#160; I think I have tried so many I might as well review how they worked.</font></p>

The weather is getting nicer again to be outside so I hope to ramp up.

<p><font size="3">He goes back to the doctor this Friday to see how things are and hopefully he can get back to exercising.&#160; His endurance is low and he’ll have to start slow, but he is determined!&#160; So I will be too.&#160; I have a little advantage at the moment to get my butt going and maybe catch up to where he may be shortly.</font></p>

<p><font size="3"> I did 3.5 miles on the treadmill.&#160; Not bad for rebooting my exercise program.&#160; One of my runs, I actually ran,&#160; I mean more than a good jog.&#160; It felt good.&#160; I wanted to go farther in my head, but my body said, whoooaaaa. don’t go out to fast.&#160; So I quit at 3.5 and did some stomach work.&#160; I feel really much better today.&#160; I cut my carbs way back yesterday and so far today.&#160; I have that kind of “heady” feeling today though.&#160; Drank my water, which I need to get on doing right now.</font></p>
<p><font size="3">I got on the scale this morning, dreading it, because I feared I gained quite a few pounds since the holidays, but I was only up 3lbs from my lowest so far.&#160; <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://bethstout.com/__oneclick_uploads/2011/04/wlemoticon-smile.png" />&#160; Thank goodness.&#160; I was ‘feeling’ like I really gained, but I think from the non exercise, I felt flubby……….&#160; </font></p>
<p><font size="3">I’m hoping I FINALLY have my head back on straight to get moving and finish this job!&#160; Besides, summer is coming and I want to feel great!</font></p>

<p>Did my stomach, arm, chest work, and did a little leg work (squats, quad lifts on the bowflex), but didn’t feel like it was going great.&#160; But at least I got a work out in today.</p>
<p>Checked my blood sugar and is was only 65!&#160; Could be good and bad……..good that my body didn’t feel it needed to dump sugar into my system to raise it, but bad because that’s probably why I didn’t feel so great too.&#160; I’ll have to check before I exercise and if it’s low’ish, I’ll eat some carbs then exercise.&#160; I also need to check with the doctor in April and she may need to lower my dose of Metformin.</p>
<p>I had a leftover chicken breast with mayo/honey mustard on the side to dip in for lunch, and I found Diet Ocean Spray cranberry juice!&#160; For a full cup (8oz) it is only 2 carbs.&#160; <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://bethstout.com/__oneclick_uploads/2011/02/wlemoticon-smile1.png" /> ……..Juice!!&#160; real juice!&#160; LOL&#160; I mixed it with some sprite zero and it was awesome!</p>
<p>I’m researching the ‘no drinking’ while on metformin thing,&#160; he he he.&#160; The more I read the more I see that people <strong><em><u>are</u></em></strong> drinking while taking it and it doesn’t effect them and that it is RARE to get Lactic Acidosis<img style="display: inline; float: right" align="right" src="http://www.ltverrastro.com/phpThumb/phpThumb.php?src=/brands/photos/StPaul_na_Bot.jpg&amp;h=200" width="98" height="183" /> when combining the two.&#160; But I haven’t had a drink since last April………………so I don’t need it, but it would be nice for my 50th to have a drink.<a href="http://diabetes.emedtv.com/metformin/metformin-and-alcohol.html">INFO</a></p>
<p>I did find an imported NA beer that I like and have with Pizza or when I feel like a beer.&#160; St. Paulie Girl’s NA beer is really good.&#160; More like an ale taste to me.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I wanted to run today but kept putting it off………talked to <em><strong>everyone</strong></em> on the phone today, worked on the computer, etc.&#160;&#160; Finally at 4:20pm I made it to the treadmill.&#160; I was doing really decent.&#160; Pace was great.&#160; Music was awesome……….going going going pace was 2 min faster than Saturday’s 5 mile run……..Bob comes home………I’m still walking/ running………cool&#160; I’m gonna go 6 miles…..breathing is great feel like I could go forever……….feet a little hot in the shoes, but doing good.&#160; CRAP……..the treadmill shuts down at 99min……..I mean completely stops mid stride.&#160; It stopped at 5.86 miles……..so I quit and did my stomach, arm and chest work………DAMN&#160; I really wanted to see that 6 mile mark, but once it stops for me I’m done!&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; </p>
<p>Then while trying to do my stomach, arm and chest work my mp3 player goes freaky……..I had it in the front of my bra to hold it………well it is a very convenient spot to keep it, lol… sweating on it might have did it in.</p>
<p>Anyway………..had a GREAT work out today even if I got it in late.&#160; 18.3 min miles on Saturday and today was 16.45.&#160; Trying to get it down to a respectable time&#160; <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" alt="Smile" src="http://bethstout.com/__oneclick_uploads/2011/02/wlemoticon-smile.png" /></p>
